As White Star Liners have now completed their EP "You Can Do It, We Can Help" [iTunes], they put together a rather fun launch gig in Brighton and asked me along to shoot it. More details on exactly how this zero-budget multi-camera bodged-together live shoot went down in a future post, for now here's the first officially released video from the gig, White Star Liners performing a cover of ELO's Mr Blue Sky. White Star Liners: An Introduction

Not to long ago we shot a short video interview for White Star Liners, along with some footage of them recording a new EP release (due later this year), cut that together with some donated gig footage and we have a nice little video giving an introduction to the band. Check it out below..

Adventure Men - FIRST EPISODE

The first Adventure Men episode is now online, with Episode 2 to follow sometime this coming week.

The first adventure sees Ross & Simon investigate the possible haunting of The Fitzwalter Arms in Goodnestone, Kent. The adventure spans two episodes, with this first one covering their arrival and daytime walkround. As to be expected their ineptitude shines through, but Ross remains adamant and hopeful of finding proof of the existence of ghosties.

Adventure Men

And so it begins!! Or it will on Tuesday July 28th, our first day of filming for Adventure Men.

Adventure Men is the follow up to the popular Comic Relief 2009 Mockumentary event; Touching the Dyke.

Adventure Men will follow Ross & Simon as they embark on a variety of quests and adventures of the natural, supernatural and personal nature. Adventure Men will be released across the web on as many viewing portals as we can find and hopefully with a proper synopsis by then!

I have to say, I do like the Vimeo interface, I've had a profile on there for a while, but not really explored it, the TtD channel looks pretty snazzy if I do say so myself!

White Star Liners - Tyre Pressure Was The Least Of His Worries (Live)

Helped out some friends of mine by cutting together some recent gig footage for them, taken from a couple of camcorders (one 16:9, one 4:3, yay, both auto-exposing, double yay), I synced and cut together the two angles, applying a little re-framing (or a lot on the 4:3 stuff), and the odd bit of motion, as well as a bit of a grade (within FCP) to take the edge off the DV footage and some of the blown out areas.

I've got the rest of the gig sat on the work drive as I work on building videos for each song for them, so they could well upload some more at some point.

Touching the Dyke - FIRST SCREENING!

Touching the Dyke has been causing quite a stir online, which led us to create a single 12min cut, abridging the five released episodes, for showing at film nights and festivals around the world and know universe.

Synopsis

Originally released as a five part web mini-series during the run up to Red Nose Day in March 2009, Touching the Dyke chronicles Ross and Simon’s epic climb to the summit of Devil’s Dyke near Brighton in the deepest South of England. To date the webisodes have garnered over 2000 views between them and, thanks to their valiant efforts, Ross and Simon have raised over £400 for Comic Relief. Now this revised cut abridges their harrowing, yet uplifting, journey for festival audiences.

The first screening we've had confirmed...the WORLD PREMIER if you will, will be at the "Odder's Mini Cine Picture Show" which takes place at Bar Odder in Manchester on April 19th 2009 8pm - Late!!
